Supporting unpaid carers of all ages to feel informed, connected, empowered and resilient — and to sustain their caring roles with confidence.
During 2025–2026, Harrow Carers was alongside unpaid carers at many different points in their caring journey. Through early identification, personalised planning, information and advice, counselling, dementia support, befriending, wellbeing activities, peer support and digital access, we assisted adult carers to sustain their caring roles while retaining a life beyond caring. This reflects the preventative approach at the heart of the Care Act 2014. Section 1 places individual wellbeing at the centre of care and support, while section 2 requires local authorities to provide or arrange services that prevent, reduce or delay adults’ care and support needs and carers’ needs for support. As a community partner, Harrow Carers contributes to these duties by reaching carers before difficulties become crises, responding early when pressures emerge and helping people manage established needs so that wellbeing, independence and family life can be sustained for longer.
