Physical Health

Being a carer is hard work with the focus being on the person you care for. You often forget about yourself and your needs. We believe that mental and physical health go hand in hand, which is why we provide plenty of opportunities for carers to get active as a means of staying fit and socialise with other carers.

Have a look at our services below

Harrow Carers offers a wide range of activities to provide opportunities for carers to get out and be more active. Our activities are provided in a warm and friendly atmosphere and in accessible venues. They give carers the chance to meet up with other people in similar situations where they often support each other. Many carers say that this is one of the most beneficial things that we do. See below for the list of regular activities and services we have going on at Harrow Carers; To book a session please visit our Events page.

We can also provide resp[ite support where one of our caring and fully trained homecare staff will look after your loved one while you get a break. See our Homecare service for further details.

Traditional Japanese message therapy translating from Shiatsu to ‘finger pressure’.

Shiatsu focuses on the flow of energy in the body to prevent illness and disease. Stimulation of blood circulation around the body helps to release toxins and tension from muscles.

Yoga originated over 5,000 years ago and has been adopted by many cultures as a way to exercise and build strength, flexibility and mental wellbeing.

Studies have shown that yoga can benefit those with high blood pressure, depression, heart disease, aches and pains. Yoga is  recommended for those with the risk of falling as it improves balance and coordination.

Love Yoga but need your weekly dose of Pilates?

Yogalates combines the two popular methods of physical exercise to help you stay active and physically healthy. These two forms of exercises have been held in high regard for years when it comes to methods of fitness so why not give this fusion a try?

Tai Chi

Tai Chi is a martial art developed in 13th century China, now practised worldwide as a method of promoting healthy exercise.

Tai Chi has been proven to improve posture, balance, and mobility and reduce stress. Nobody is too old for Tai Chi as it’s practised as a low impact exercise so nobody should be worried about being in pain.

“Very helpful, Harrow carers always helped me in the past, still helping me in my difficult situation they have always been there for me.”
